The dietary properties of MCT fatty acids result from the fact that they are absorbed directly from the gastrointestinal tract into the portal vein, and unlike other fatty acids, lipase and bile are not required for their digestion. Therefore, MCT oil is often used in states of impaired fat absorption.

MCT oil - how to apply?

MCT fatty acids are absorbed into the bloodstream very quickly (similar to glucose), and they need twice as much oxygen to burn as other fatty acids. They are characterized by twice the combustion energy (8.3 kcal / g) than carbohydrates or proteins (4 kcal / g), which causes increased thermogenesis of the body (raising its temperature).
