Glutamine = base

Glutamine provides nitrogen necessary for muscles, which is built into amino acids and proteins, stimulating anabolic processes in them. Regular consumption of Glutamine Xplode leads to the creation of a high nitrogen balance value, i.e. a state of the internal environment of the body that promotes all anabolic processes - and at the same time - inhibits catabolic processes. In addition, it is easily absorbed, and thanks to the elimination of unnecessary ingredients, it does not bring side effects during use. Olimp Glutamine Xplode comes in three flavors, which further increase the comfort of supplementation.

Why is L-glutamine supplementation so important for your muscle development?

Protein is an essential component of muscularity. The strength and mass of our muscles depends on the amount of protein accumulated in them. Nitrogen is an element characteristic of protein, which is not present - neither in fats nor in carbohydrates. The amount of protein accumulated in the muscles is therefore measured by the amount of nitrogen retained in the body, which is called the nitrogen balance. The higher the nitrogen balance - the "bigger and stronger the muscles". Glutamine is the basic nitrogen storage and transporter. Glutamine supplies nitrogen to the muscles, where it is built into amino acids and proteins, i.e. it stimulates anabolic processes.

When other organs or tissues need nitrogen, they get it from muscle tissue. Muscle proteins then break down, which we call catabolism, and their nitrogen is transferred to glutamine, which transports this element to other tissues. However, if, in a similar situation, the body has an adequate stock of ready glutamine - it delivers nitrogen to the tissues and there is no catabolism of muscle proteins.

Consumption of ready glutamine, e.g. in the form of a sports nutrient, leads to the creation of a high nitrogen balance value, i.e. a state of the internal environment of the body that promotes anabolic processes - and at the same time - inhibits catabolic processes.

Studies in humans have demonstrated the high efficiency of glutamine in improving the body's nitrogen (protein) metabolism. However, studies on athletes have shown that its positive effect on the nitrogen economy translates into the development of physical fitness - to a slightly lesser extent than expected.
Due to its unique role in the nitrogen economy, glutamine is involved in a huge number of metabolic pathways associated with anabolic and catabolic processes. However, it always remains only one of the elements of every trail. It is the scarcity of other elements that may limit the effectiveness of glutamine on the increase of athletes' physical fitness, despite the proven effectiveness in improving protein metabolism.

Glutamine and vitamin B6.

Much of the glutamine ingested does not leave the digestive tract, but is "stopped" by intestinal cells and probiotic bacteria of our flora. Although this phenomenon, widely studied and discussed recently, is extremely useful for proper digestive tract function, it also depletes the metabolically active glutamine pool. Vitamin B6 helps us here, which is involved in the transport of amino acids through intestinal cells and contributes to the increase in the intake of glutamine from the gastrointestinal tract. Vitamin B6 also catalyzes the process of glutamine transferring nitrogen to anabolic mechanisms that occur in muscle cells. It also catalyzes the metabolism of glutamine in the brain, leading to the formation of neuroactive amino acids that have a beneficial effect on the hypothalamus and pituitary gland. Under the influence of these interactions, the pituitary gland secretes such a set of parent (tropic) hormones that creates a hormonal environment in the body that is beneficial for muscle development - a lot of anabolic somatotropin and testosterone, and little catabolic cortisol.

Glutamine and folic acid, vitamin B12 and niacin.

Glutamine - along with folic acid, vitamin B12 and niacin - participates jointly in anabolic processes in muscles, at the stage of nucleotide and nucleic acid synthesis, binding nuclear receptors to anabolic hormones and anabolism co-regulators and genes, providing the necessary conditions for efficient cell division, also at the stage of binding amino acids to protein molecules. synthesis of some amino acids and regulation of the formation and maturation of red blood cells.

Folic acid is also an essential factor for the growth and development of the body and is necessary together with vitamins B6 and B12 for the proper use of cysteine. In addition, B vitamins play an important role in getting rid of homocysteine, a byproduct of cysteine metabolism.

Glutamine and leucine.

Glutamine together with leucine controls the signaling pathways of strong anabolic hormones such as insulin, insulin-like growth factor (IGF) and mechanical growth factor (MGF). The joint effect of both amino acids on the enzymes of these pathways helps to establish optimal proportions between catabolic and anabolic processes occurring in muscle cells. It is the level of leucine and glutamine in the blood that provides information to the body about the degree of breakdown of muscle tissue and is a direct signal to activate all anti-catabolic mechanisms in the body and intensify protein synthesis.

Glutamine and cysteine and glutathione.

Cysteine is supplied in the form of cystine, i.e. two linked cysteine molecules that remain completely insensitive to the digestive enzymes of the gastrointestinal tract (trypsin and pepsin) and in unchanged form reaches the body's cells, where under the influence of one of the enzymes its reduction leads to release two cysteine molecules.

Glutamine together with cysteine is involved in the production of glutathione-tripeptide, which is the most important non-enzymatic antioxidant factor available to the body. Studies have shown that - both glutamine and cysteine supplementation - stimulates the synthesis of glutathione and leads to an increase in its level in the body. Glutathione is an extremely important metabolically active compound, involved in key life processes. Glutathione controls anabolic processes at the stage of creating the spatial structure of proteins, where sulfur atoms bind together - twisting the amino acid chains accordingly. Such a twist conditions, for example, the contractility of muscle fibers. Glutathione also constantly penetrates these protein structures, thanks to which the number of sulfur connections remains constant, while each protein retains its structure and functionality - e.g. contractility. Recently, it has been observed that muscle proteins must constantly remain in a certain proportion to glutathione, while testosterone stimulates protein anabolism as much as glutathione resources allow. Due to its unique properties, in states of exhaustion, it stabilizes lysosomal membranes and inhibits the uncontrolled release of catabolic enzymes responsible for the breakdown of proteins or nucleic acids.

Glutathione also works anabolic, more directly, activating some transcription factors - stimulating genes to start protein synthesis. It also directly participates in the transfer of amino acids in the glutamyl gamma cycle, which enables protein synthesis, creating a positive nitrogen balance.

Glutathione effectively reduces the level of cortisol and lactic acid, and also increases the level of muscle glycogen, thanks to which it affects much faster muscle regeneration, extremely efficiently and effectively preparing us for the next grueling workout.

Glutathione and selenium.

Selenium, in combination with cysteine, forms the active center of glutathione peroxidase - an enzyme that renews glutathione and maintains a high level of its metabolic activity. Research has shown that selenium supplementation raises levels and increases glutathione peroxidase activity.

Glutathione and vitamin C.

Studies have proven that vitamin C (PureWay-C®) stimulates production and increases glutathione levels in the body. In addition, together with glutathione, it activates the appropriate transcription factors - stimulating genes to start protein synthesis. Vitamin C, just like selenium, is an additional antioxidant base, protecting muscle proteins from damage during the post-workout period, when regeneration should be the most important process and nothing should interrupt it.
